Before the exponential increase in remote working, organizations were mostly holding on to traditional perimeter-based security architectures, where ethernet and firewalls could protect everything within their networks. Nowadays, employees access their work applications and information from any location and any device, using non-trusted networks to transfer company data back and forth without proper security mechanisms. All this makes it easier for the employees to do their job, but also raises complexity and increases risks - calling for better cyber security through strong authentication.
Now, together with Signicat, a pan-European leader in digital identity, Efecte Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) is enhanced with strong customer authentication (SCA) to address the evolving cyber security needs. SCA is a way of safely and reliably confirming the identity of a user or device, bringing the EU PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) directive compliant strong authentication for organizations.
Efecte IGA with strong authentication will be offered first in the Nordic markets and in the future, our combined aim is to expand to other European markets. With Efecte IGA, organizations ensure security while working remotely, by controlling identities and permissions. This helps organizations and users to reduce their cybersecurity risks by helping to prevent insider attacks, data breaches as well as related ransomware cyber-attacks, and to avoid misuse and frauds.
Strong authentication fits best for use cases implying high risk, such as password reset or self-registration. It offers convenience as well as security, without compromising usability, and is especially suited for public sector customers, for example universities. Signicat supports over 30 European electronic identifications (eIDs), and provides multi-factor login with electronic IDs, biometric scanning, SMS/email OTP and in-app solutions.
