Efecte Seminar Addressed the Challenges in Producing IT Services 
- Over 60 participants gathered for the annual customer event

The seventh annual Finnish customer seminar held by Efecte attracted over 60 Efecte customers to the Radisson Blu hotel in Helsinki in October. During the day interesting thoughts relating to the management of IT services, and new Efecte solutions were shared, as well as experiences of the challenges of information management. 

The seminar began with a plentiful lunch, after which Juha Berghäll, the Marketing & Partners Director of Efecte, opened the event with his talk on the reason information management exists. Information management is to serve business, but what is to be considered when creating efficiently managed IT services? Berghäll presented a model, which can be used to bring IT operations closer to the goals of business. Sampo Pasanen, Product Director, presented the audience with methods to utilize Efecte solutions in creating cost savings in both the short and long-term. Quick gains can be achieved by optimizing licensing costs and reducing unnecessary business applications. The advantages of continuous efficiency improvements, in turn, are achieved by taking charge of services, developing applications and improving efficiency with change management. 

Following this, Sakari Pihlava, VP Products, revealed future prospects of Efecte from the standpoint of product development. Pihlava talked about the development of Efecte ERP for IT®, which facilitates concrete and swift results in each phase of the development path. This development path created by Efecte combines the best practices of the industry, Efecte's product portfolio, a delivery project and ten years of experience of IT projects.
 
Following a coffee break, Product Manager Ilona Mäkinen presented Efecte's new SCCM Connector, which allows use of the MicrosoftTM solution as a source of inventory information, thus also making the use of Efecte SAM and Asset solutions more effective. The SCCM Connector is to be released during 2009 for Efecte version 5.1.
 
Juhana Orrela, Product Manager, talked about another new solution; the Efecte Service Catalogue. The common problem with producing services is being technology-oriented, and that neither the customer’s nor the business’ problems are understood well enough. Service Catalogue offers a common language between business and IT and allows IT services to be prioritized based on business needs. For IT department, it offers a view to the service selection and facilitates easier monitoring of service levels and service pricing.
 
After the seminar, the evening continued in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the hospitality of Restaurant Schönes Fräulein and networking. We would like to thank all participants for a pleasant afternoon!
