Efecte Builds a Breakthrough in the Nordic Countries

Finnish software house Efecte Corporation’s strong growth in the Nordic markets continues. According to Jaan Apajalahti, Efecte’s founder and CEO, the turnover of the company in 2006 shows a significant increase from that of the preceding year. The turnover of Efecte Sweden in the first year of activity was strong due to large deals closed in the last quarter. As part of Efecte’s strategy of internationalization, the company has appointed “country managers” for the subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
Efecte’s major success in 2006 is reflected also in its number of staff. In the near future, Efecte will recruit personnel for its service team and product development activities in Finland in particular, as well as for its Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian subsidiaries.
"The 2006 financial year was another extremely successful year for Efecte, and our organization has grown to include nearly 70 experts in the Nordic region. As we have pursued a strategy of strong international growth, our profitability and solvency have remained at an excellent level, indicating well-balanced growth. Our target is that, within a couple of years, more than half of our net sales will originate outside Finland. This trend is supported by our appointment decisions regarding country managers,” explains Apajalahti.
In the Technology Fast 50 ranking published by Deloitte & Touche in fall 2006, Efecte was ranked among the twenty fastest growing Finnish technology companies for the second year in a row.
New Country Managers are IT veterans
At the beginning of December, Stefan Gidlund was appointed Country Manager for Efecte Sweden. Gidlund has a strong international IT background with responsibilities in sales and management. He previously worked for Runaware.
Christian Juul, who will start as Country Manager for Efecte Denmark on 1 February 2007, previously worked for IBM in sales management. Among other companies, he has also worked for Rational Software and Compuware in sales management.
Henning Mork was appointed Country Manager for Efecte Norway, and will start work on 1 April 2007. He is currently working as independent advisor and management for hire for early stage companies, and his previous positions include general management and sales management for several software and system integrations companies in Norway.
Country Manager Juha Berghäll is responsible for business operations and clients in Finland, supported by Regional Sales Director Dick Lindertz and Service Director Sergei Malkov.
