Efecte Appoints Risto Siilasmaa Partner and Chairman of the Board
The Finnish software vendor, Efecte Corporation, has appointed Risto Siilasmaa Chairman of the Board. Siilasmaa is the founder of F-Secure, and Chairman of its Board. Moreover, Siilasmaa will become one of Efecte’s main owners with a 20 per cent share. Efecte Corporation develops software solutions to help companies monitor and model their IT operations management and render it more efficient.

Efecte, founded in 1998, has rapidly become a leading Nordic software vendor. With the new Board of Directors, the company is seeking experience and support in globalization, while the EUR 2.25 million invested by Siilasmaa will contribute a significant amount of capital for developing the company further.

Other members of Efecte’s Board are Hannu Vaajoensuu, founder and Chairman of the Board of Basware, Jukka Kosonen, private investor and management consultant, Jan Pawli, Sales and Marketing Director of 2ndhead Oy, and Jussi Sarkkinen, CTO of Efecte Corporation.
Kristian Jaakkola, former Chairman of the Board, will rejoin Efecte’s operative management together with Jaan Apajalahti. They have worked together in developing Efecte’s business operations since 1999. Kristian Jaakkola will be responsible for Efecte headquarters operations in Finland while CEO Apajalahti is in charge of globalization and Nordic business operations.
Efecte’s solutions support the development of business-oriented IT management and IT management ERP. Over 250 Nordic companies and organizations are using Efecte’s IT Asset & Service Management software solution. Efecte’s HQ is located in Helsinki, and the company also has offices in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
